Negative electrode bonding application

To innovation as the driving force, to the quality of development

Although the amount of negative electrode binder is very small (only for the homogenization and coating of graphite negative electrode material), it is an indispensable component. During the coating process of the pole piece, the volatilization of the solvent at the drying speed affects the migration of the negative electrode binder, resulting in different distribution states of the negative electrode binder, and the formed slurry and the microstructure of the pole piece have large differences, and the formed microstructure also directly affects the performance of the battery. Unreasonable use of the negative electrode binder will cause differences in the microstructure of the pole piece, affect the bonding performance of the graphite negative electrode, and easily appear sticky rollers during rolling; affect the bonding performance between the graphite negative electrode and the copper foil, and the pole piece is easily polarized during battery charging and discharging, causing the negative electrode to drop and reduce the service life of the battery.

At present, the most widely used anode binder on the market is SBR (styrene-butadiene latex).

In the process of developing fluorine-free glue, our research and development team found that fluorine-free glue can replace the commonly used negative electrode binder SBR (styrene-butadiene latex) for negative electrode bonding after water-based modification, improve the binder migration caused by volatilization of drying solvent, further improve the binder distribution state, reduce the probability of rolling the adhesive roller, reduce the polarization of battery charging and discharging process, and improve the electrical performance and service life of the battery.
